![]() I have even used the last bullet on page 43 on Kevin. It is important to ask myself what I really want want for myself and for the group and then focus on acting that way. I love pages 42 and 43 because it is such a nice condensed version of the information. Some times when I want to change the world, I forget that the only person I can really change or control is myselft. I guess I just mean, I like to talk more than others:)Ĭhapter three is possibly my favorite! For starters, I think it is both important and difficult to "start with heart". I think this happens in PLC at times due to personalities. It mentions how some times people sit back and don't share, which hinders the group from having all the information to make a great decision. ![]() ![]() It touches on, but there is much more in later chapters, about seeing from everyone's perspective and really hearing what and how others think and feel. Since we are working as a mini company, and we are all equals, I think that concept is very important.Ĭhapter two is all about dialogue and shared meaning. On pags 11-12 it mentions how in successful companies when someone does something wrong, people speak up! They don't wait for the policy to kick in or the boss to deal with it "in the best companies, everyone hold everyone else accountable-regardless of level or position" (11). One way, to avoid them, I think, is a lot of times the way we've been trying to deal with issues. Also, I liked the part on page 3 where it says there are three ways to deal with issues. We all are so passionate about our work and the students, that can sometimes get in our way. ![]() Chapter one really explains why I think this book may be able to help us communicate in PLC because it explains that crucial conversations are when stakes and emotions are high both of which we deal with pretty regularly. ![]()
